Description
A USB-485 device—often called a USB to RS-485 converter—is a compact adapter that bridges modern USB ports with legacy RS-485 serial communication networks. It enables reliable, bidirectional data exchange between a computer and RS-485-enabled devices such as industrial controllers, PLCs, sensors, and access control systems. These converters typically support half-duplex differential signaling, which allows for long-distance, noise-resistant communication over twisted-pair wiring. Kantech USB-485 is a USB to RS-485 converter used for connecting a PC to the RS-485 input on Kantech controllers such as KT-1, KT-100, KT-300, and KT-400.
