Siemens QA115AFC is a combination type 15 amp AFCI (arc fault circuit interrupter) that detects all three types of arc fault: line-to-ground (ground fault), line-to-neutral (short circuit), and series.
A branch feeder arc fault circuit inturupter (AFCI) detects arcing faults (an unintentional arcing condition in a circuit) that standard circuit breakers are unable to detect. The device is intended to mitigate the effects of arcing faults by functioning to de-energize the circuit when an arc-fault is detected.
